SMPS Seattle Announces 2015 Reign Awards Winners

SMPS Seattle members gathered last evening to celebrate the hard work of our members, their firms, and the achievements we've made in marketing throughout the past year. The 2015 Reign Awards winners spanned architecture, engineering, and construction firms this year, highlighting video design and production, rebranding efforts, social media campaigns, and special events. This year's winners are:

    COMPANY and TEAM AWARDS

    Best One-Time Marketing Piece

"Kindness Sticks, Pay It Forward" Video - DCI Engineers

Judges said that DCI Engineer's submittal provided honest lessons learned. They were honest in their shortcomings. Their staff's passions resignated within the video and clearly demonstrated DCI's culture. Excellent use of social media.

    Best Marketing Collateral

Open House Event - Howard S. Wright

"Howard S. Wright's Open House collateral was interesting. It captured my attention. It was strategically thought out. Howard S. Wright thought about what a party should be. They thought about what makes people attend, what makes people stay and planned their party and collateral accordingly. Their submittal provided great qualitative and quantitative results. Howard S. Wright's team followed through with those unable to attend with the offer of a tour and a drink. There was a call to action with all materials with a clear shelf life on all offers. They came up with a great tagline, "Wouldn't Be Home Without You", and wove it throughout their materials" said the judging panel.

    Best Digital Media Campaign

"BLG" Blogging Campaign - SRG Partnership

Judges said that SRG Partnership "mapped out a great process. Their content fed through all social media platforms. They wanted their blog to be a voice for all employees. They posted a new piece by a different employee each week. With 90 employees, they have enough engagement for 2 years! Their blog provides a strong impression of SRG's company culture." Judge Bill Strong said, "SRG provided printed pieces in addition to their online submittal. It provided a multi-platform experience for the judging panel."

    Best Brand Experience

New Home Program - Howard S. Wright

"Creative, super fun branding pieces for staff to help with transition into a new office space. They provided tips for spouses and employees. All pieces had exceptional branding and all pieces connected. The submission had strong infographics. The Howard S. Wright team stated their ROI upfront and followed up at the end with their outcomes.

    Judge's Choice Award

"Shooting for Five" video - Sellen Construction

Sellen Construction chose to share their knowledge and process without an expected return. They were honest on their lessons learned - a scripted video will always turn out much longer than planned.

    People's Choice Award

         Company Rebranding - Stantec

    INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

    Marketer of the Year

         Melanie Cochrun, GLY Construction

“Mel’s support of personal development and willingness to provide what we need to make ourselves more valuable is something that I am not sure I will find anywhere else. She is extremely supportive and understanding and leads our group confidently with lots of passion.”

    Rising Star Award

         Crystal Sackman, CPSM, Kennedy/Jenks Consultants

“Crystal is more of a comet than a rising star!  As a pro-active SMPS member, she spreads the good word about SMPS-based learning opportunities to others within our firm and the A/E/C community.”

    Member of the Year Award

        Amanda Erickson, Sellen Construction

“Amanda is thoughtful and thorough with everything she does. She has a great ability to see the whole picture and proceed in a logical manner. She’s a born leader.”

    President's Award

         Heidi Maki, Swenson Say Faget

President Jessica Biel said “I couldn’t have kept my head on straight without the individual who I’m bestowing the President’s Award. Heidi Maki scheduled meetings for me when I was drowning in work, she took on roles that were way outside her position, she questioned the status quo AND discovered new ways of doing things, she's been a sounding board, and she's done an all around remarkable job supporting me and the chapter.”

Congrats to all the winners – the awards were well deserved! It was a great chance to see the inspiring work our community of marketers is producing here in the northwest, and I'm sure it was a tough decision for the judges!
