The Super Awesome SMPS Store You’ve Probably Never Heard Of

If you are anything like me, you always run into the hurdle of finding business development and sales publications and materials focused on professional services. There are literally billions of pages of print regarding selling widgets and other tangible products but very few items dedicated solely to the art of selling professional services. I will admit that buried within the books devoted to selling a product there are good nuggets of information and techniques that can be applied to professional services but usually 85-90% of the reading is useless to our industry.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there were a place that offered all sorts of resources and publications dedicated to the field of selling and marketing professional services? Well, guess what? There is! Yes, has a section of their site called The SMPS Store that is filled with books on selling professional services, case studies where clients are interviewed on why they hire consultants, examples of marketing plans, etc. This should be your first stop when in need of help or outside expertise to help you and your firm.
