Workshop | The Art of Successful Proposal Writing

March 08, 2018
7:30 AM - 12:00 PM

AGC of Washington Conference Center
1200 Westlake Ave North
Seattle, WA 98109

You asked, we answered! This popular hands-on workshop sold out quickly last year, so SIGN UP TODAY and secure your seat.

In this workshop, you will explore the art of client focus in proposals and marketing materials, the basics of writing clearly and concisely, and writing stronger submissions with a higher rate of acceptance.

“Our job is to make technical information accessible—and compelling—to our clients. A good proposal submittal complies with the RFP and is error free, is tailored to a client’s specific needs and tells the story of why your firm is best suited for the job.”

Learning objectives of this workshop are to:

- Discover proven strategies for writing proposals and working with teams to respond to RFPs

- Gain confidence in your ability to write compelling narratives that connect with customers in the A/E/C industry

- Interact with the instructor and each other to understand best practices for responding to RFPs and generating marketing materials.

Rebecca Hall
Principal, Word Coop

Rebecca Hall brings a wealth of writing experience with over 10 years in the A/E/C industry specializing in proposals, marketing and business writing for Skanska USA, Turner Construction Company, Innovative Interiors, Matthews Studio and Mithun. While a grad student in creative writing at Texas State University, she taught English Composition, which included lecturing and working with students on grammar, essay content, and tone.

Whether considering the structure of a building (as an architect) or the structure of a sentence (as principal at her new venture Word Coop), Rebecca is an artist with an engineer’s precision. She balances accuracy with creativity to make the greatest impact, taking the same approach to an RFP for a billion dollar public-private partnership as for a small addition to a local museum. As an integrated team member, she strives to uncover—and then to tell—the story that sets her clients apart from their competitors.

Rebecca works remotely or in person, both locally and nationally, and has collaborated with teams in Seattle, Los Angeles, New York City, and points in between.
