There’s a new CEO behind the desk. Next-Gen-thinking CEOs bring a different perspective to running A/E/C firms than their predecessors. They are more collaborative, team-oriented, and at times less decisive than the last model. While it seems like the kind of leadership we’ve all been waiting for, it comes with some adjustments and challenges.

As we seek “business transformed through marketing leadership,” we need to recognize and appreciate a new decision-making model. We have to learn to trust in leaders that don’t have all the answers and don’t necessarily want to have all the answers. We have to understand the new order where marketing and business development are expected at the table as trusted advisors.

All levels of marketers, business development and technical staff will benefit from this primary research conducted with next-gen CEOs and their marketing/bd teams. Join us as we discuss this new model and what it means for you!

About the Speakers


Donna Corlew FSMPS, CPSM
A native Tennessean, Donna’s roots run deep in Southern hospitality, a culture of giving, and an abiding love of SEC football. She launched C*Connect to work with firms across the US to focus strategic vision and market research, grow connections and chemistry with clients and targets, and help seller/doers and marketing/business development teams to thrive and win profitable work. She achieved the CPSM designation through SMPS in 1993 and elevated to the status of Fellow of the Society in 2004. Active in SMPS since 1987 on local and national levels, Donna served as Society President in 2007-2008. She received the Society’s highest honor, the Weld Coxe Marketing Achievement Award, in 2019.

  Frank Lippert FSMPS, CPSM
Frank is the founder/partner of Go Strategies, LLC. He provides strategic pursuit planning, strategic market capture planning, and functional seller/doer training to clients throughout the US. Frank is all about helping teams work more effectively and more efficiently with processes, schedules, and tools that keep business development strategy and marketing efforts on track. He has worked at small, medium, large, and mega-sized engineering companies in his 30 years in the A/E/C industry. He speaks regularly at SMPS, ACEC, WTS, APWA, and SAME conferences. Frank has served as the SMPS Society chapter delegate and Society president. He is a Fellow of the Society, and a CPSM.
