SMPS Seattle Lunch | Reshaping the CEO, Amplified

January 14, 2020

There’s a new CEO behind the desk. Next-Gen-thinking CEOs bring a different perspective to running A/E/C firms than their predecessors. They are more collaborative, team-oriented, and at times less decisive than the last model. While it seems like the kind of leadership we’ve all been waiting for, it comes with some adjustments and challenges.

As we seek “business transformed through marketing leadership,” we need to recognize and appreciate a new decision-making model. We have to learn to trust in leaders that don’t have all the answers and don’t necessarily want to have all the answers. We have to understand the new order where marketing and business development are expected at the table as trusted advisors.

Hear primary research conducted with these next-gen CEOs and marketing/BD teams that are winning along with them and participate in the conversation about this new model and what it means for you.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understanding the communication and leadership challenges for the next generation of A/E/C firm leadership
  2. Understanding what "a seat at the table" means and the new responsibilities expected from marketing and BD leaders
  3. Understanding how to improve the seller/doer - marketing interface
  4. First-hand research from two SMPS Fellows to support continued conversation at your office
