Since the lockdown in March, gone are the business lunches, getting–to–know–you coffees, networking events, and strategic face–to–face meetings. Online meetings and Zoom fatigue are the new normal. So what are the creative ways A/E/C professionals are connecting with clients and teaming partners in the age of COVID-19?

In this interactive session, and for the very first time, members from the Seattle Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and the Puget Sound Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) can compare notes about how they are continuing to develop new business opportunities. The open forum will be led by SMPS Seattle Fellows and feature business development pros from contractor firms sharing ideas that can help you connect with clients and prospects from a physical distance. Don't miss this chance to learn some new BD strategies and tactics and expand your network by tapping into the power and resources of two sister organizations. We're all in this together!

About the Speakers

KK Clark, DBIA LEED BD+C, Project Executive, Clark Construction Group, LLC
KK Clark joined Clark Construction as an Engineer in 2013 at our Highland Hospital Acute Care Tower project in Northern California. KK completed Highland Hospital Acute Care Tower in Oakland, CA and United Airlines Tenant Improvements Projects at SFO before relocating to Pullman, WA to build the award winning Washington State University The Spark: Academic Innovation Building. KK moved to Seattle, WA in 2017 and served on our Washington State Convention Center Addition project before transitioning to the University of Washington Seismic Improvements projects. KK currently lives in San Diego, CA and serves Seattle, San Diego and LA in project development and delivery efforts.

Bryce Taylor, LEED Green Associate, Director of Business Development, GLY
With more than 30 years of experience, Bryce provides preconstruction and construction management services in the life science/healthcare field, never shying away from inherent complexities and critical protocol. His resolute leadership successfully delivered facilities to clients like Seattle Biomed, Omeros, Amgen, BioMed Realty and Seattle Children’s. As Director of Business Development / Project Executive, Bryce focuses on relationships, costs and schedules—moving the team forward at a faster rate while keeping a watchful eye on design intent, sustainability, and life cycle goals. Bryce is also widely recognized for his leadership in professional organizations and extraordinary community service.

Katie Trimpe, LEED AP BD+C, Business Development Manager, Turner Construction Company

Katie Trimpe is the head of Business Development where she oversees both marketing and sales, and serves as a member of the business unit’s key leadership team. A graduate of the University of Washington’s construction management program, she has been deeply involved in the construction and commercial real estate industries for almost 15 years, serving for 6 years on the board of the AGC CLC to government affairs, as well as NAIOP’s Developing Leaders group, and co-founded an emerging leaders program internally at Turner in 2014. She recently served on the NAIOP Developing Leaders Committee, and is currently the President of the Belden Club, and somehow finds time to coach students at the University of Washington’s yearlong Commercial Real Estate Certificate Program, which she also completed in 2016.
