Meet the Press & Get the Scoop

Like any other discipline, there are best practices and nuances in working with the media. This is your chance to learn directly from a panel of reporters and editors about how to create targeted, strategic press coverage that can produce results. They will share their insights on the most effective ways to secure coverage of A/E/C projects, services, staff, and events.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand what key local reporters are looking for and what they consider news
  • Learn the DOs and DON'Ts of pitching a story
  • Develop a better understanding of what is and isn’t newsworthy so you can advise your professional practice colleagues

About the Panel

Vladimir Bosanac (bow-sonnets) is the co-founder and Publisher of The Registry, Puget Sound’s most comprehensive commercial real estate trade publication. He started the publication in 2007 with his wife, Heather, as a way to get out of the corporate world and fulfill a dream of running his own business. The Registry today covers the industry across two of the most dynamic real estate markets, Puget Sound and the Bay Area, where technology is transforming the regions and the industry like never before.

Rachel Gallaher is an award-winning arts and lifestyle writer and the senior editor at GRAY magazine, a global design publication based in Seattle. As a founding member of GRAY, she has shaped the editorial content of the magazine for the past nine years, as well as helped to push the magazine forward to international acclaim. In 2015 she was nationally recognized by Folio as a 30 Under 30, touted as an up-and-coming star who will shape the future of the magazine media industry.

Marc Stiles is a senior reporter at the Puget Sound Business Journal and has covered commercial real estate off and on for 21 years. His writing has won state, regional and national journalism awards, including the Washington Newspaper Publisher’s Association Column of the Year.
