Communication is key - now more than ever as we navigate the intricacies and sometimes awkwardness of virtual meetings. Looking to brush up on your core communication skills? Need some tips for mastering virtual meetings in the new year? Meg Winch’s Effective Virtual Business Development and Communications program will focus on ways to optimize communication in a virtual environment: how we speak, move, listen, document, and demonstrate. Across contexts, Meg will demonstrate how to use voice, body, and presence to lead communication; you will learn—and practice—skills that will positively impact any type of communication, including short-list interviews. She will share lessons learned from high-profile interviews, training processes, and facilitated events from across the globe to help you understand how to take advantage of technology to be a better communicator. You will take away ‘hacks’ to make virtual communication more effective for any event and for speakers at all skill levels. Meg will also review best practices for virtual interviews that will help you and your teams prepare differently – and more effectively – for your next short-list interview and showcase your team’s points of differentiation and engage with your selectors. IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Join us at 9:30 am (PST) for pre-presentation networking and connect with SMPS members and non-members from Washington D.C., San Diego, and the Twin Cities. After the presentation, stay online for a post-presentation roundtable discussion to gain further insights and ideas that will help set your firm apart. Come ready to be engaged and interact with the group. We ask that if you're able, please have your video turned on. Each participating chapter has agreed to make a charitable donation; SMPS Seattle will donate to the Girl Scouts of Western Washington.
