CPSM Certification

The CPSM certification program enhances the professional standing of A/E/C marketers and business developers with their employers, their peers, and the public. It increases confidence and knowledge in strategic marketing and business development practices, leading to professional success for the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) and their company.

Being a CPSM means that you have met a rigorous standard of experience and expertise in marketing professional services. For some, that equates to career advancement or increased compensation and benefits. For everyone, this personal investment enhances your opportunity for professional success.

The video above provides an overview of the CPSM Certification, testing process and is the first step in understanding what to expect. You can also download the PDF of this overview here.

The Seattle Chapter offers many resources for prospective candidates:

Currently, the Seattle Chapter of SMPS is offering a scholarship for those who pass the CPSM exam. The scholarship is available for the next 8 people who receive a passing score on the CPSM exam and covers the examination fee (a $275 value).

Congratulations to Bill Taylor & Lori Castro who were the first two recipients of this ten person scholarship!

We have three copies of the MARKENDIUM books available for loan through the SMPS Seattle Library. Please contact Brandon Peters to borrow a set.

Study Groups

Currently the Seattle Chapter has a study group that meets on the first or second Friday of each month. It is a virtual session at lunchtime in which we go through practice questions and the key concepts of the Domains. Each session we cover two Domains and most of the current group hopes to test in Q2 2019. Sitting in on a session is a great way to see some practice questions and get familiar with how the test will be.

Quarterly Study Sessions

We also host Quarterly Study Sessions which will take place at a variety of locations in Downtown Seattle. These sessions will involve study games, small team breakouts, general overview of the domains and involvement from other great CPSMs in our chapter to let you know what to expect. Each Quarterly Session will cover three Domains to allow all participants the chance to test after 6 months of studying (although you’ll have to study more than just the two Quarterly sessions).

Study sessions will take place on the following dates:

-  June 18, 2019

-  September 19, 2019
