Annual Chapter Scholarships

SMPS Seattle is pleased to help members and non-members of our A/E/C community achieve their goals for continuous learning and professional development through a variety of financial assistance programs. This year, we have over $11,000 budgeted for a wide variety of scholarships. Read more below!

Membership Scholarship: $390

Finding it hard to make the case for joining SMPS? Have to choose between renewing your membership or allocating funds elsewhere in your marketing budget? Whatever the financial barrier may be, we don't want you to close the door on one of the greatest investments you can make in an A/E/C marketing career. Exciting news! This year SMPS Seattle is giving away four -- yes, you read that right -- four scholarships! Scholarship covers one full year of individual membership dues, currently valued at $390. One of them could be yours, so apply today!

Overview:

  • Both SMPS Seattle members and Non-Members are eligible.
  • Evaluation criteria includes benefit to the applicant, positive impact to the employer or future employer, SMPS involvement, and overall quality of the submittal. 
  • This is a blind evaluation process. If an application is incomplete, or reveals the applicant’s identity, employer, or co-workers by name in the essay sections, it will be disqualified.

NEW! The Pinnacle+ Experience Scholarship: $300
For the past three years, SMPS brought A/E/C leaders together to collaborate, network, and exchange ideas at The Pinnacle Experience. This year, from September 16–17, we're going above and beyond to bring you The Pinnacle+ Experience, hosted virtually. Like previous years, expect a symposium-style format with interactive presentations, collaborative sessions, and networking opportunities. There’s never been a better time to connect with a network of senior peers and address the most critical issues facing your firm! SMPS Seattle is pleased to offer two $300 scholarships to attend this online-only event. Current SMPS Seattle Members with at least 10 years of experience are eligible. If this is you, apply now! Previous The Pinnacle Experience scholarship winners are not eligible, but previously unsuccessful applicants are encouraged to try again. Eligible expenses for this scholarship include registration cost only.

Continuing Education Scholarship: $600
SMPS Seattle offers one $600 scholarship to an SMPS member to further their professional marketing education. Examples of allowable expenses include but are not limited to: SMPS events or conferences (local, regional and national), college or university classes, books about professional services marketing, other educational events or workshops offered by a credible organization, and CPSM certification and testing fees. Current SMPS Seattle Members are eligible, excluding Continuing Education scholarship recipients from the last three years. Previously unsuccessful applicants are encouraged to reapply.

CPSM Scholarship
SMPS Seattle offers scholarships, in the form of reimbursement of examination fees, for those who receive a passing score on the CPSM exam. Current SMPS Seattle Members and non-members are eligible. Limit (1) scholarship per person. Forward passing test score via email to CPSM Program Chair, Erin Hatch CPSM.
Deadline: Anytime. Available year-round, up to (10) scholarships per year.

Fellows Scholarship: $2,500
Attending the SMPS Build Business conference contributed to the long-term success of our Chapter’s six Fellows: Karleen Belmont, Victoria Cooper, Kenda Salisbury, Ted Sive, Bill Strong, and Carla Thompson. Eager to share that experience, they worked with Seattle Chapter leaders to create the Fellows Scholarship, so that other SMPS Seattle members have access to the same opportunity. This generous $2,500 scholarship covers all major expenses for one lucky SMPS Seattle member to attend. Visit the Society's Build Business website for dates and locations.

The Pinnacle Experience Conference Scholarship: $1,500
The Pinnacle Experience is an annual learning and networking event specifically designed for senior marketing leaders. During this thought-provoking event, you’ll discuss fresh ideas, exchange unique perspectives with other marketing and business development leaders, and learn about and share inspiring successes. You’ll be challenged by thought-provoking speakers addressing a variety of factors associated with setting strategic direction and leading successful firms. SMPS Seattle is pleased to offer one $1,500 scholarship to attend The Pinnacle Experience. Current SMPS Seattle Members with at least 10 years of A/E/C marketing experience are eligible, with the exception of previous The Pinnacle Experience scholarship recipients. Previously unsuccessful applicants are encouraged to try again. Eligible expenses for this scholarship include conference registration, travel and/or hotel costs.

PRC Scholarship: $1,500
SMPS Seattle offers (2) scholarships for SMPS members to attend the Pacific Regional Conference (PRC). Visit the PRC website for more information on dates and locations. Eligible expenses for this $1,500 scholarship include conference registration, travel and/or hotel costs. Current SMPS Seattle Members are eligible, excluding PRC scholarship recipients from the last three years. Previously unsuccessful applicants are encouraged to try again. Eligible expenses for this scholarship include conference registration, travel and/or hotel costs.
