SMPS Seattle stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement

We are appalled by the patterns of police violence against Black people in our country. We acknowledge the pain, sadness, and countless other emotions that our members are experiencing. We are against racism and all forms of violence.

It’s very clear; diversity without equity and inclusion just doesn’t work. We must stand alongside one another, be present, and listen. We must commit to do better.

As marketers, we have many valuable skills that equip us to do this important work. We are strong, passionate, tenacious, empathetic, and creative. The world needs us to flex our creative muscles and work towards positive change – together.

Over the past few weeks, many SMPS Seattle Roundtables have self-selected to discuss the Black Lives Matter movement and issues of race and social justice at their upcoming meetings. This is exactly what this program was designed to support. If your Roundtable has not yet discussed this topic, we encourage you to reach out to your facilitator.

The SMPS Seattle board wants to hear your thoughts. We want to be allies for you and your firms. We want to learn how we can provide you with the programming you need to be leaders now and in the future. We will support you in this journey.

During this difficult time, we find hope in YOU, our SMPS members, and the SMPS vision: Business transformed through marketing leadership. It is abundantly clear that now is our time to be leaders in something truly transformative.

Are you with us?

In solidarity, the SMPS Seattle Board of Directors
